Maintenance by the Season
Have you ever wondered in which season you should prune your trees and shrubs? Have you wondered if you're supposed to dethatch in the spring or in the fall? When should you aerate?
Massey's Landscaping is here to help. You'll find the answers below for some of your simple questions and you'll find the solutions for your long-term lawn maintenance just a phone call away.
In the Fall...
Fall is actually the time to get a jump on spring lawn care and maintenance. Our fall clean up specials including pre-ermergents for weed control in planting beds. Fall is also the time to aerate.
In the Winter...
Keeping a handle on snow removal is one thing that you can do in the winter that will improve your results in the spring and summer months. Keeping heavy drifts off of your bushes and shrubs will help to ensure their proper health.
In the Spring...
Spring is the time to dethatch/power rake. Think about power edging your walks, driveways, and patios for a clean manicured look. (One FREE power edging with pre-pay fertilization program by April 1.)
In the Summer...
Consider having your turf treated with Merit granular during mid-late June. This product will kill the larvae which hatch in the grass and emerge as adult Japanese Beetles. For best results, the product must be watered in for seven days after the application. Please note, this is not a cure-all as beetles may fly in from a neighbor's yard. Since the beetles tend to feed in groups, you can also use a jar of soapy water and knock the beetles into it. |
